MSC, a global container shipping company, has updated its service in a bid to enhance the connections between Europe and South Africa
The current NWC to South Africa Service rotation is being updated from March 2024 with a direct call at Bremerhaven. This, MSC stated, will increase flexibility for its customers shipping cargo between South Africa and Germany. MSC BRANKA will be the first vessel to arrive in Bremerhaven and is expected to come into the port on 19 March.
Beyond this, MSC is also introducing a new feeder service to link the manufacturing hub of East London in South Africa with Coega, one of the country’s main ports. This will provide a practical alternative to truck transport between the two through a new weekly service, beginning 25 March.
Overall, MSC has indicated these changes will increase the flexibility for customers and boost its coverage of ports loading to and from South Africa. In addition, this enhanced service coverage will create a more direct offering for cargo moving between NWC and South Africa. Customers will also benefit for improved options for customers shipping goods from the industrial hub of East London with connections to MSC’s global network.
