Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Côte dIvoire has extended its cold room in the Aerohub, the largest contract logistics base in West Africa located near the Felix Houphouët Boigny International Airport in Abidjan

The Aerohub is a 6,000 sq m contract logistics base intended to receive, store and distribute goods intended for the Ivorian and sub-regional market. In 2021, it handled 1,491 TEU containers of goods. The company has tripled the capacity of the temperature-controlled area in order to meet the growing demands of customers and was able to do so by making use of local companies including Aric, 2I Ivoire ingénierie and Instafric. Specifically, the new cold zone will support customers in the pharmaceutical, retail and catering sectors in their growth.

This was not the only news to emerge from AGL in recent days however, as AGL Senegal was proud to announce it has completed a major logistics operation for the Sabodala Massawa gold project. The company successfully completed a large-scale logistics operation, mobilising its teams and using state-of-the-art equipment such as the 12L2F modular hydraulic trailer. 35 packages were unloaded at the port of Dakar, including three oversized engines, each weighing 100 tonnes. To ensure that these parcels are transported intact, AGL Senegal has undertaken a major 20 km road upgrade between Sane Soutou and Bembou, as well as the rehabilitation of a 60 km track between Bembou and Sabodala.

Finally, AGL Kenya has been honoured by Unilever Kenya at the inauguration of its 23,000 sq m warehouse in Nairobi. The company celebrated the outstanding service provided by AGL Kenya and recognised the efforts and expertise demonstrated by the company throughout the transition of goods from the AGL Kenya warehouse to the Unilever site. The team managed to ensure the transfer of products without any security incidents or losses throughout the entire process.
