Silvercorp Metals, a Canadian mining company producing silver, lead and zinc metals, has hired Kevin Moxham as general manager of Tanzania Projects
Effective as of 1 January 2024, Moxham has been tasked with leading the construction and commissioning of the Nyanzaga Gold Project alongside related infrastructure in Tanzania, once Silvercorp assumes effective control.
Rui Feng, chairman and CEO of Silvercorp, commented, “We are very pleased to welcome Kevin to the Silvercorp team. Kevin brings decades of experience in the African mining industry and his deep industry knowledge on that continent will make a great contribution to Silvercorp's future growth.”
Having worked with the likes of Anglo American, Barrick Gold, Bisha Mining Share Company and Newmont across a range of projects across Africa, Moxham is no stranger to senior leadership positions. Notable achievements have included, most recently, serving as executive general manager of the Khoemacau Copper Mine in Botswana where he led mine development efforts from 2017. This culminated in the commencement of production in June 2021, successfully accomplishing all targeted milestones and ramping up full capacity to 10,000 tonnes per day before its sale to MMG Limited.
