Panafrican Group is focusing on providing cost-effective and productivity improvement solutions for the mining industry, keeping in the mind the financial challenges it is currently facing

The company, which supports a range of Komatsu machines, is keenly looking at improving a mining customer’s cost of production by reducing Ground Engaging Tools (GET) wear and consumption. By representing the Hensley product line, which has first fits and direct replacement parts, the Panafrican Group is supporting GET for Komatsu as well as other OEMs.

The Hensley product line, combined with the Panafrican Groups’ reporting and support, can result in a host of advantages including:

· Safer & Faster Change-Out: Reduction in change out time with safer hammer free locking systems

· Improved Wear Life: Superior wear profiles & wear characteristics which results in minimizing steel wastage and extends wear life

· Standardized Product: Standardization of GET

· Bucket Management / Maintenance / Monitoring Programs: Focused on Continuous Improvement

· Seamless Transition to Hensley & Panafrican: Ensure an effortless and efficient transition from old type GET to New improved GET without effecting production or machine downtime.

· Inventory Management: Improved planning and logistics

· Comprehensive On-Site or Classroom Training: proactive training to support the best practices with G.E.T.

Panafrican Group managing director Scott McCaw said, “This is a very good example of how we can be more relevant to our customers business in challenging markets. Quite often, the distributor’s role is confined to equipment supply and parts sales, whereas at Panafrican, we seek to assist our customers in a range of solutions tailored towards improved performance of their operation.”

To date, several cost-per-ton trials have been implemented by the Panafrican Group as well as Hensley, following which a drop in GET costs by up to 20 per cent have been reported.
