Terex Construction has appointed equipment service specialist Zero48 as its West African dealer in an attempt to strengthen its dealer network in the region

Zero48, through its subsidiary company IBS Sarl, will distribute Terex equipment in Guinea. It will initially focus on selling Terex articulated and rigid trucks, and other construction products, with a plan to distribute more of the Terex range in the future.

A statement from Terex said that with Guinea’s economy largely dependent on agriculture and mineral production, the agreement between Zero48 and Terex would be ideal to meet the demands for trucks in the mining industry and for construction machines to develop new infrastructure.

The company added that potential owners of Terex trucks would also be reassured to know that Zero48 could provide aftermarket support for the trucks, in addition to numerous equipment monitoring solutions.

Terex sales director for North West Africa Manuel Leal said, “Zero48 prides itself on its local knowledge and continued development of the communities in which it operates. This made it the obvious choice when we looked to appoint a new dealer.

“Guinea is a fast-growing market, therefore, we are pleased to form a relationship with a company that has experience in delivering major construction initiatives in the region,” he added.

Zero48 president Paolo Allen Bosco commented, “We’re delighted to be working with Terex as they are one of the leading construction equipment manufacturers in the world. It was important for us to find an organisation which is forward-thinking and has faith in emerging markets such as Guinea, and in Terex we found that.”
