The leading heavy equipment manufacturer Komatsu America Corp. has introduced two new models HD325-8 and HD405-8 off-highway trucks, which feature an increased horsepower and Komatsu traction control system (KTCS), aiming to improve productivity in a cost-effective way

Komatsu said that the new models have high payload capabilities, with fuel consumption down for the HD325-8 by nine per cent and for the HD405-8 by six per cent compared to other similar earth-moving equipment.

According to the company, the KTCS has been installed to automatically apply independent brake assemblies, which is aimed at achieving the highest level of traction in different ground conditions.

Komatsu’s new off-highway trucks include seven-inch LCD colour monitor and rear-view monitor, which is focused on delivering sharp picture and vivid colours in harsh lighting condition.

The company added that the ventilated and heated operator’s seat with air suspension and cast frame members are aimed at softening machine vibrations to increase comfort and strength.

In addition, the new models replace the ladder configuration with sloped stairs and handrails in front, to provide better access to the operator.

Rob McMahon, product marketing manager for Komatsu America, said, “The updated truck models retained their industry leading steering performance and retarding capacity for maximum production.”

“The addition of Komatsu’s latest fuel saving technologies and the all-new cab, lower the cost to maximise production and significantly enhance operator comfort at the same time,” McMahon commented.

The company further added that the HD325-8 and HD405-8 models are covered by the Komatsu CARE, which provides the product support solutions such as complimentary scheduled engine maintenance programme for the first three years or 2000 hours, and Komatsu diesel particulate filter exchange and SCR maintenance service for the first five years or 9000 hours.
