Liberia opens first steel factory

President George Manneh Weah has inaugurated Liberias first steel factory, expressing hope about foreign investors’ interest in the Liberian economy

As reported in The New Dawn, President Weah noted that the country needs ‘Made in Liberia’ products like other African countries.

President Weah further added that Liberia needs more factories to produce from raw materials, crucial to immensely moving the economy forward.

According to the source, the President pleads with the management of the company to employ more Liberians and asked Liberian employees to be respectful in the discharge of their duties. He further assured that the government is ready to help the management in creating a good working environment.

President Weah expressed gratitude to Nimba County Legislative Caucus through Senator Prince Y. Johnson for its role in establishing the first steel factory.

Liberia's commerce and industry minister Wilson K. Tarpeh commented that the opening of the steel factory is in line with the government's plan to work with the business community and investors in boosting Liberian economy of Liberia.
