Fluor Corporation recently set-up its Mozambique office in Maputo to develop its current projects and improve its existing offices in the region

According to Fluor, the new office will support Mozambique in working towards expanding its economy and human development.

“We want to meaningfully contribute to its development by supporting clients with engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services,” said country manager, James Hughes.

The new office will assist in the launch of Fluor’s projects across multiple industries including oil, gas and chemicals, infrastructure, industrial services, mining and minerals, the company said.

The services portfolio brings together both large and small capex projects, as well as continued routined modifications, replacements and upgrades, Fluor stated.

“Fluor has a history of executing complex projects all over the world,” added Hughes.

“We believe by having a permanent project execution presence in the country, we also allow for opportunities in skills development, employment and national content.”

Fluor to date has trained more than 35,000 people in Southern Africa and offers training on welding, rigging, mechanical fitting and boilermaking, the company revealed.
