A new online tool has been developed to provide vital European market information to African exporters

Supported by the Africa Trade Fund (AfTra), the market information was released on the website of the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI), to assist African exporters and business support organisations to identify business opportunities in Europe.

The information covers more than 25 market sectors, including automotive parts, electronics, and heavy machinery and aerospace components.

Moono Mupotola, manager of the African Development Bank's NEPAD regional integration and trade division, spearheaded the partnership, which will see AfTra help spread CBI’s market data by providing access through its own website.

Mupotola said, “The platform is highly interactive and user-friendly and the information and studies are presented in a concise, light and logical format. In today's fast-paced environment where decision-makers must act quickly, it makes all the difference.”

The data includes elements such as trade direction, supply and demand, competition, consumption trends, and requirements on labelling, packaging and certifications.
