Water Africa & West Africa Building & Construction Exhibition & Seminars will be conducted in Ghana from 22–24 June this year
All eyes are on Africa as there is increased speculation over the continent's rapid urbanisation rate, including in a recent World Bank report published in March predicting the economic future of the region.
However, economic growth in Africa is disproportionate and the wealth gap is wide.
West Africa, in particular is prone to this situation including Ghana, which makes it the right time for a discussion in the form of ‘Water Africa & West Africa Building & Construction Exhibition & Seminars’ in Accra. The event acts as a timely push to provide governments, consultants and contractors with new ideas and tools to get water and sanitation infrastructure and urban housing construction moving faster.
ACE Event Management managing director of organisers Tracey Nolan-Shaw said that the event aims “to create a two-way flow of information for visitors and participants which will help them to analyse their sector needs more precisely and set in place the necessary steps for expansion and improvement in these important areas.”
Last year, countries represented included China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the UAE among others.
The event will consist of sections focusing on building and construction along with water and sanitation.
Final touches are being put to the parallel seminar programmes, which will run in co-operation with the Ministry of Water Resources, Works & Housing. The seminars always attracts a large number of delegates, some of whom will be employed by central and local governments, developers, consultants, contractors and NGOs, and some from the exhibiting companies themselves.
