The West African Mining and Power Exhibition (WAMPEX) is set to return to Accra, Ghana on 1 June 2016, and will provide West Africas mining and power sectors a host of solutions and networking opportunities

WAMPEX, organised by Exhibition Management Services in association with EPI Events and Projects International Limited, is the region’s key event for suppliers of equipment, technology, services and consumables to West Africa’s power and mining sectors. The event witnessed more than 140 exhibitors from 16 countries last year and organisers are confident that the 2016 show will be bigger and better.

John Thomson, Exhibition Management Services, said, “West Africa is still one of the biggest and fastest-growing industrial, mining and power generation markets in the world. The region has massive gold, copper and iron ore deposits and hundreds of mining projects underway at any given time, all with heavy electricity demands.”

Regional governments, private sector companies, investors and entrepreneurs use WAMPEX to enhance business relationships and expand supplier networks within and outside West Africa.

The show has supported a host of companies and trade bodies for 22 years. One such company is Interplast Ghana that has been showcasing for more than a decade. General manager Sivnesh Kuma said, “WAMPEX is certainly the largest and most effective business platform available for the mining and power sectors in the sub-region.” At the show, Interplast Ghana will be launching its latest product. “Ingreen is a platform for the design and installation of automatic underground irrigation systems, featuring a wide range of top quality products including sprinkler heads, sprinkler timers, valves, accessories and tools manufactured by Interplast and Hunters industries,” said Kuma.

Seven-time exhibitor KSB Pumps vouches for WAMPEX as a show that fosters profitable business relations. With its core business being mining, the company mainly focuses on supporting West African customers by providing tender pre-qualification, negotiations, administration, technical sales and commercial support for pumps and valves.

Meanwhile, Total Ghana is expected to showcase a number of projects including a new fuel additive, AWANGO solar lamps and a new fuelling depot in Takoradi.

WAMPEX and local body endorsement
WAMPEX’s tie-up with Ghana’s Chamber of Mines, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Minerals Commission of Ghana, Volta River Authority and Electricity Company of Ghana is useful for a host of companies, part of the show and seeking business opportunities in the country.

WAMPEX will take place between 1-3 June 2016 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra, Ghana.
