INTERMAT is returning this year to once again serve as the meeting place for construction industry professionals to contribute to the efficiency of building projects

Organised every three years, the latest edition of the renowned conference will take place from 24-27 April in Paris Nord Villepinte, France and will focus on the major factors shaping the global construction industry in the years ahead. Most notably among these is the path to net zero, which is shaking up the production model for all associated organisations and stakeholders. In light of this, the 2024 edition of the conference will be one of renewal, where the low-carbon transformation of the sector will be highlighted. In doing so, construction professionals will be assisted in their search of game-changing solutions and sustainable equipment and technology to support their own journeys in this respect.

Organisers have indicated that, around issues such as reducing the carbon footprint of building projects, migrating to zero-carbon energy sources, or low-carbon powertrains, equipment, materials and services, the event aims to offer a stage to the latest developments and concrete solutions on the construction market. With decarbonisation the key theme of this year’s edition, the event will be organised around the key themes of innovation, energy, new equation and CSR commitments.

Attendees of the show will gain unique access to the full spectrum of the industry on display, with nearly 1,000 exhibitors (including many major key accounts returning once again) gearing up for the 2024 show. Further, the event will boast a new layout centred around the five identified clusters of expertise: new technologies & energies; earthmoving, demolition & transport; roads, materials & foundations industries; lifting & handling; and building, civil engineering & concrete industry.

The Industry Forum’s BFM Business TV set is also new for 2024 and will feature a series of round tables to provide a broad look at societal, energy and economic issues, the challenges of decarbonisation and digitalisation, and also raise public authority awareness of the fundamental role of our sector in achieving net zero.

A new area dedicated to employment and training will showcase the initiatives taken by the federations to promote the appeal of occupations in the building and public works sector, and encourage connections between young talent and companies, through workshops, talks and job-dating sessions.
