Investing in African Mining Indaba, running from 5-8 February at the CTICC in Cape Town, South Africa, will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year and will welcome a broad range of prominent speakers and attendees

The long-running conference will mark the milestone with the theme ‘Embracing the power of positive disruption: A bold new future for African mining’. This will reflect the objective of dining solutions and paths towards positive change within the industry and highlight the need for the sector to embracing navigating a path towards positive change in order to become a meaningful global competitor.

As such, industry professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the continent will join in on the debate and help the continent get on the right track to fully exploiting the key minerals it has been endowed with to drive a sustainable future for the planet.

“It is public knowledge that Africa’s critical minerals resources are extensive but largely untapped, and this holds substantial opportunity to fast track the development of Africa and by association its economies and communities,” remarked Investing in African Mining Indaba head of content, Laura Cornish. “Critical minerals at large are driving the greatest level of interest and investment within the mining industry at present and will be an underlying feature across most of the discussions we facilitate.”

All visitors will also have the chance to survey and explore leading technology and service providers across the extensive exhibition floor alongside a strong representation from international investors and governments including from US, Europe, India, and Saudi Arabia.

Recently, the organisers have highlighted some of the most hotly-anticipated sessions which will be running across the four days. This includes ‘Voices of Disruption’, discussions featuring leading speakers from some of Africa’s premier mining companies and associations who will be exploring how to bring positive change and disruption to the industry and continent. Notable participating speakers will include Duncan Wanblad, Anglo American CEO; Sinead Kaufman, Rio Tinto Minerals CEO; Benedikt Sobotka, Eurasian Resources Group CEO; and Mark Bristow, CEO of Barrick Gold Corporation.
