BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA 2015 to begin in Johannesburg next week

The second edition of BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA, considered among the largest construction events globally, is all to take place from 15-18 September 2015 at South Africa’s Johannesburg Expo Centre

The show will host companies that are set to present the latest solutions in construction and mining machinery. Several construction majors have confirmed their attendance. Among them, the first time exhibitors include Case Construction, Deutz Dieselpower, MTU, New Holland Construction, Scania, Ulma, WACO and Barloworld Equipment, according to the organisers.

Samantha Swanepoel, general manager of marketing at Barloworld Equipment, said, “BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA serves as an excellent opportunity to unveil new Cat equipment technologies and earthmoving solutions to our southern African mining, construction and industrial customer base.”

Online registration is now open for visitors. Advance registration could be beneficial for enhanced networking and business opportunities, suggested the organisers. More than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the show. Around 600 companies from 40 countries have already registered, and will be showcasing their innovations to an up-and-coming African market on 68,000 sqm of exhibition space. With eleven national and international pavilions, there’s a widespread international feel to the show, stated the organisers.

Industry and Country specials at BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA
In addition to product showcase, country and industry special programmes are being planned for the first time.

Country specials will be held in the Forum area, where various projects as well as selected African markets, with the opportunities and challenges that they offer, will be presented in more detail. Current possibilities and potential investments in the construction sector will be highlighted, keeping in mind South Africa, Ethiopia, Botswana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia. The country specials are being organised together along with partners and supporting associations.

Industry special programmes will witness experts and associations from the industry explore current technologies and trends within the construction machinery and mining market. The main focus will be on the visions and challenges in the African market as well as possible opportunities. Topics include “Mining Cities” presented by the University of Stellenbosch, “Changes to Import and Export Laws” presented by the Bowman Gilfillan Africa Group and “Doing Business in Africa” presented by Nedbank and Intergest.

Co-located events
The annual congress of the Master Builders South Africa will be hosted alongside BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA, where members and related personnel from industrial sectors meet to encourage greater dialogue between members, decision makers and experts and to discuss current developments in the construction industry.

Of particular interest is the IFAT Environmental Technology Forum Africa – Water, Sewage, Refuse and Recycling – Solutions for the Mining and Construction Industry. This forum will bring together suppliers and users of innovative solutions and technologies for the treatment of water, wastewater, sewage, refuse and recycling.
