Africa Energy Forum (AEF) is holding the EnergyNet Student Engagement Initiative (ESEI) to help African students with the first-hand experience of the power sector on global economies and industries
Now in its sixth year, the ESEI has supported around 100 African students to learn from global energy companies and explore employment prospects.
ESEI promotes human capital development and job creation across Africa’s power and energy sectors, providing a platform to recognise exceptional African candidates and entrepreneurs. Selected students from top African universities are sponsored to attend the annual AEF.
Top class students from Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, Senegal and South Africa are attending the 21st AEF in Lisbon. These countries have been chosen for their wealth of resources, expertise and movement in the sector over the last 18 months. The goal is to create Africa’s next generation of energy leaders. The participating students will get the opportunity to create a network with various people and institutions participating.
Some of the students taking part for this ESEI initiative are Abdelrahman Ahmed Mohamed Ayoub from Egypt’s Cairo University, Ahmed Mohamed Ali Hassan from Egypt’s Helwan University, Ahme Kolawole Oyebamiji from Nigeria’s Elizade University, Aissatou Diagne Gueye from Senegal’s Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique (ESP), Alemi Desta from Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa University, Amanda April from South Africa’s University of Cape Town, and others.
