The Bauchi State government in Nigeria said it was collaborating with a firm of private estate developers, Mubel Company, to build 1,000 houses in the same village within 12 months
The construction of the units will take place at Dungal village, along the Bauchi-Jos road, in the Bauchi Local Government area of the state.
The state commissioner of lands and housing, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, said the move was part of the government’s effort to provide housing for its citizens in the state.
The commissioner said under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the government and the estate developer, an estate developer would construct 1,000 housing units in Dungal within one year and advised the community to assist the construction firm Mubel Company to enable it execute the project.
Mubel Company managing director Alhaji Ibrahim Masari pledged to build a hospital, bore hole and install a generator set within the community before the project began.
