Terex Finlay held its largest-ever customer open event at a quarry in Scotland recently, where it highlighted all of its new models for both quarrying and recycling applications to an international audience
The event took place over a three-day period in June at Jim Jamieson’s Quarry, located near Aberdeen on Scotland's eastern coast, and featured various demonstrations of Terex's crushing and screening equipment.
More than 300 end users and dealers attended the event, including a number of representatives from Africa, the Middle East and China.
In total, 13 different models were demonstrated and previewed in both quarry and recycling applications, with a demonstration of a single plant configuration consisting of eight models that have all been scheduled for 2013 launches among the highlights.
A host of recently-launched models and upcoming product launches were previewed, including the J-1480 jaw crusher with direct drive jaw crusher, the 893 heavy duty screener, the 684 2-deck inclined screener and the 694+ Optidrive inclined screener – a diesel/electric dual power alternative to the three way split screen.
Among the other models on show at the quarry, were the C-1550 cone crusher, the J-1175 jaw crusher and the I-130RS impact crusher. The line-up was completed with the incorporation of the Terex Finlay C-1540 cone crusher, with the model on display featuring a new onboard side conveyor configuration that affords operators the opportunity to remove pre-screened fine material from the plant.
In the recycling demonstration area there were three models on display – the J-1170 jaw crusher, the I-100RS impact crusher and the Terex Finlay 883 with Spaleck screen.
The J-1170 jaw crusher featured at the event was fitted with the hydraulic release chamber, while the prototype of the I-100RS on show in the quarry was one of the prototypes currently being tested in a range of applications in Europe before its launch in Q4 2013. Both machines where demonstrated working in recycling demolition and concrete waste.
