Atlas Copco Specialty Rental division and Malta based Mainticare Ltd. have signed a partnership agreement covering oil and gas (O&G) equipment rental services.
The agreement sees integrated support to service off- and onshore O&G customers operating within the Mediterranean and North African sectors.
The partnership will focus upon potential North African O&G business. It will also build upon existing links with operations in all Mediterranean countries with a special focus on Algeria, Egypt, Libya and others. The strengthened customer support will be facilitated by the location of Mainticare Ltd. Strategically located along the main shipping routes linking the continents of Europe, North Africa and Asia. Mainticare’s Maltese base is about 95km south of Italy and nearly 290km from Tunisia.
The Atlas Copco Specialty Rental product range available through the partnership will include both oil-free and oil-injected air compressors, generators, nitrogen membrane units, air boosters, dryers and auxiliary equipment and other O&G related equipment.
Mainticare is acknowledged as a leading service provider to the O&G sector. Offshore services offered include rig evaluation and repair planning, rig move and towing, specialist underwater repairs plus full engineering and fabrication services. A full range of well services, the rental of down hole equipment and bunkering facilities are also offered. With its ability to offer a complete equipment rental package to meet very specific O&G customer needs, Atlas Copco Specialty Rental is ideally positioned to offer a seamless extension of the services already provided by partner Mainticare.
The agreement was signed at Mainticare's offices in Malta by Horst Wasel, President Atlas Copco Specialty Rental and Jonathan Borg, Business Development Director Mainticare. Effective 1 July 2010, Peter Smets, Business Development Manager O&G for Atlas Copco Specialty Rental, will be based full-time in Malta. He will co-ordinate and further develop the O&G business to meet and exceed customers’ demands while striving for service excellence.
