Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by Sonatrach, the first oil & gas Algerian company, to manage its network evolution and deploy advanced communication services across 157 sites in Algeria.

The 12mn euro contract includes the supply, installation, deployment, project management, integration and commissioning for communication services which will help streamline operations by connecting its network, people, business processes and knowledge.
As part of Sonatrach’ strategy to evolve its communication network, Alcatel-Lucent will replace a TDM voice system and provide Sonatrach group with its IP communication servers that will bring interactive high quality unified communications, advanced Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and multimedia applications to Sonatrach employees. Alcatel-Lucent is the market-leading provider of VoIP in the Middle East/Africa region.
The Alcatel-Lucent complete IP communication solution will enable the Sonatrach group’s employees in mobile or deskbound roles across the country to be connected in real time over a centralised private network and transform the way they communicate by taking advantage of a wide range of innovative, secured and reliable applications and features.
