Outside the southern Swedish town of Örebro, the headquarters of Atlas Copco’s surface drilling and underground rock excavation divisions, top and middle managers from around the globe converged on the Atle quarry to witness demonstrations of a wide range of technological innovations both in terms of new products as well as services. They were also given the opportunity to tour the production facilities for Atlas Copco’s surface drilling and underground rock excavation equipment.

A special exhibition set up in the quarry showcased equipment which included underground drill rigs, loaders and trucks, surface drilling rigs and mobile crushers, casing drilling and grouting equipment for micropiling, exploration equipment, compressors, handheld equipment, consumables, parts and service and training simulators.

“So many significant advances have been in this field over the last few years at Atlas Copco that we thought it was high time to present them to the world’s mining and construction companies here in our own back yard,” says Andreas Malmberg, President, Atlas Copco Surface Drilling Equipment. “The response was tremendous with more people from all around the world taking part than we had expected, making it a very informative occasion for all participants.”
